Tell the world I'm comin' home

So... It's 2:37 am on December 20th, Aussie time. A maxi taxi will pull up at 4 to pick up a group of us headed to the airport. I'll wake up Monday morning in my own bed in Iowa.
My emotions right now are unlike anything I've ever experienced. When I say goodbye to these new mates that have become my family & support system in AUS, I'm not saying goodbye for a week-long trip to NZ or Fiji. I'm not saying, "See you later at the bra for dinner!" I'm not saying goodbye for a Christmas vacation or a semester. I'm saying goodbye to these fabulous people for an indefinite amount of time. We may plan trips see each other in the next year or 2, or we may lose touch. We may travel to the same country one day and meet up for brekkie. We may randomly run into one another at a grocery store one day when we're all old and settled down.
I'm so thankful for these people and the memories we share. Bondies, I'm so blessed to have met you. I can't imagine my life without you beautiful people touching my heart. Our ups, downs, mistakes, successes, and uniquely 'study abroad' experiences have brought us together and formed a bond like no other. Thanks for taking care of me. You truly are my family.
No matter where life takes us, we'll always have Australia.

Bondies for now, Mates for life.
